A balloon sculpting service puts a sculptor at a fixed station, a table or a booth, where guests queue for a piece made in front of them. It gives you one busy, colourful spot that draws people in, which is why stations are booked for corporate booths, mall roadshows, product launches and family days. At a private party the same sculptor can stay at a table in a corner while the children take turns.
Price: a 2 hour corporate balloon sculpting booking with 1 to 2 sculptors usually costs SGD 500 to 800, and a 3 to 4 hour roadshow with 2 to 4 sculptors SGD 900 to 1,800. A birthday party starts at SGD 250 to 320 for 1 hour. See the full price guide.
How a sculpting station works
The sculptor arrives 15 to 30 minutes before the slot and sets up a table with the balloons and a hand pump. Guests line up, say what they would like from the design set, and watch it being made. A simple piece takes 2 to 4 minutes, so a station turns out about 15 to 25 pieces an hour per sculptor. The queue is part of the show, but it is also the thing to manage. If the line gets long, a second sculptor at the same booth halves the wait.
Custom sculptures and branded shapes
A station is the natural place for custom work. A sculptor can make a simple version of your mascot, a shape in your brand colours, or a character that fits the theme of a launch. Custom pieces take longer than a dog or a sword, so plan fewer pieces per hour. They must be asked for in advance and usually add SGD 50 to 150 per design. Licensed cartoon characters may be declined for copyright reasons, so check before you print the idea on a flyer.
How many sculptors for the crowd
Count the guests who will actually want a piece in the time you have, not the total footfall. One sculptor covers about 15 to 25 guests an hour with simple designs. Past 60 to 80 guests in a fixed window, book two or more sculptors from the start. A corporate event or a mall roadshow with 200 or more guests over a few hours usually needs two to four sculptors rotating.
Station or roving
A station gives steady output and one spot for photos and branding. Roving gives a relaxed feel and reaches guests who would never queue. You can also book both: one sculptor at the booth and one walking the floor. See roving balloon artists, or balloon twisting for the designs and the speed.
Venue checks
Malls, hotels and large venues often need every vendor registered in advance, and some restrict helium balloons. Sculpting balloons are filled with a hand pump, but check the house rules when you book. Corporate events at major venues should confirm 4 to 6 weeks ahead so vendor passes and access are sorted. For outdoor events, ask about biodegradable latex.
